Took a taxi to work today. Before that, dropped Millie off at her school. Daddy's van's temperature was not in a good condition. Asked her to take a taxi to school. He gave her $10 for it. We left home at 7am. Could not get a taxi at first. Wanted to call for one already then. At that time, someone alighted at the bus stop. So we hopped on to that taxi. My morning was dampened by this taxi driver.
When I told him the destination, he told me to tell him in Chinese as he do not understand English. Then, he said he do not know the way there and ask directions from us. After that, he did not trust our word!!! This was not all. In the first palce, we told him that it was at Punggol. When we are about to reach there, he asked us again whether we are sure it is in Punggol and not Sengkang. Please!!! You do not know the way, ask us and do not trust us!!! Millie has been studying there. She will know the place better than any of us. Do not drive if you are not interested at all!!! Pissed!!! This was not all.
After Millie alighted, he asked me how to go to Marina Mandarin. I showed a black face to him already then. Said I am not sure and totally ignored him. He had no choice but to find the way out himself. Mumbled to himself occassionally. But I could not be bothered about what he was saying. He even tols me to explain to him in English!!! Can you remember what you told me earlier old man!!! You said you do not understand English!!! You must be suffering from lao ren chi dai zhen. Cannot even remember what you said just a while ago.
The total taxi fare was $20.40. I told him I had to go and withdraw more money as I only had $20 with me. He just charged me $20 then. I was exactly 8am when I punched my card. First time in history. Usually, I would either be in office already or am changing in the locker room.
A very very busy morning to start with. Many many telephone calls. I could not clear my faxes and emails at all. Only got to do it when the 12pm shift staff came. After that, went for lunch. Dear called me after that, to postpone our metting to tomorrow. he had just reached Singapore then. He also mentioned that he is going to Oriental for Interview. Going to clarify this with him later on. Still managed to clear my work at 4pm sharp though. =) Stayed for a while to clear those October reservations in the tray.
Rushed home and went to the gym. After that, went to Orchard to buy the gift voucher for Grace. Initially, wanted to buy Takashimaya's voucher. However, when I reached there, found out that they will be closed for today and tomorrow. Discussed with Jackie and decided to get her Isetan's voucher instead. Went to Suntec City to meet them after getting the voucher.
Had dinner at Joaqium. Though the smell was fantastic everytime we walk pass, the food was not that great after all. There was not much varieties at all. Stayed there for a chat after that till 11pm. They were already closed then. We were the only ones left in the restaurant. Took a few pictures as well with my digital camera. Wanted to take lots of pictures but they do not seem interested at all.
Shared a taxi home with Rebecca. Was reminded by Jackie to bring the digital camera again tomorrow. I will surely do so. Hope that tomorrow we can take many many pictures. I also want to take pictures with every single one of them!!!
Dear called just after I alighted from the taxi. He is working alone today!!! =) Sure get a chance to talk to him again later. Have to go and print his resume already now. Have to pass it to him tomorrow.
